Use of ICT in classroom

On 3th October, I taught
English in class five about “Let’s Advertisement.” For this lesson, I have
integrated ICT as a means of teaching and learning. To present the lesson I
have used laptops.
First I have a reading activity with
the students to get the meaning of the advertisement. To do the activity I have
instructed all the dos and don’ts while doing the task. After they have
thoroughly reading the assigned work, the volunteer students shared the meaning
of the advertisement. I took around 10 minutes to complete the task.
For the second activity, I have
divided the class into four groups having six members each as laptop is
limited. The students were really excited when I placed laptop on each group.
Then I have displayed the activity direction and instruction to go about with
the laptop. The students did the task following the instruction. They were
happy to learn the lesson through use of laptop.
I found that students were very
first to browse the internet. When I went around for helping, one of the groups
has already done their task. Through this activity I learnt that some children
are expert in accessing the internet faster than teacher.
The lesson was very fruitful and
meaningful as students were learned explicitly through technology. Children do
better in by using the ICT tools in the normal classroom teaching. I also
noticed learning by hands on experience makes them learn better. It diverges
the wide range of learning in depth with ICT tool.
Given the chance to children they will do better than their teachers. There are some teachers who do not know how to get the information from various webpage. I agree to your points.

ReplyDeleteFor today's learner we just need to provide opportunities as they do pick up easily and does things even better than us. Sometimes we need to be very careful otherwise our children might prove to be smarter. As for your post it you could write little in detail about how and what tools your children have used. It was wonderful lesson it seems and keep going!!!

I agree to your points sir, but as I request you earlier; it would be better if you write the ICT tools your students have used in this particular lesson.

It's true that our children can do it given them the opportunities. Our children can find and use the ICT as a teaching learning aid of we give them opportunities and that's exactly what you had done. Keep using it.
ReplyDeletePerhaps, these days ICT is becoming a mentor for every children. Given the topic, children can access for the information on their own. Thus, its imperative that children are bestowed with such tasks and facilities.

If the platform is rooted through proper channel children are far advance than their teachers. There are teachers who lack ict knowledge. In such circumstances teachers instructions are valuable to keep them in the track. I agree to your points la.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to know that, "The works done by students using ICT brought a great impact to them and easier for teacher to teach. The lesson was very successful and significant as students were learned openly using technology". This is really a positive tone for all of us sir after we started implementing ICT in our teaching and learning.
ReplyDeleteHope your children might have learnt better in by using the ICT tools in than in the normal classroom teaching. Because the way they learn will vary as per their attention and interest level.
