Reflection on use of ict in classroom

I
would like to share, how I taught my class III children using video tutorial
made by me for my assignment. I don’t know how good or bad it was still I used
in the class to teach. The topic is about,” Subtracting with base ten blocks.”
Since there are 14 students in the class, I used the laptop to teach them.
I
have arranged students in semi-circle to sit and watch the video. I have
introduced the topic. Then I instructed them to watch carefully. I also told
about dos and don’ts while going through the video. I informed them to note if
it is difficulties to understand the topic. They were excited to watch.
After
they finished watching video, I have given two activities to model the number
by them. I was surprised to see that all have done well. Moreover they shared
about the picture they seen in the video what to do next. However they were really
enjoyed the video lesson too.
Lastly,
I observed that children of this day learn more by watching motion video than
lecturing without any ict tools.

Teaching mathematics with ICT does in wonder and that's what you actually does it. Your work is appreciatable as I would also like to try it using laptop because of less number of students in my class
ReplyDeleteWe know that our children catch faster than us with regards to ICT tools and techniques. Video tutorial is one tool that are liked by our children. They like to learn more on such tools.
ReplyDeleteIts always better we employ ICT into daily teachings rather than teaching through the use of traditional textbooks. I too used it in the real classroom situation, and found that students get grossly involved in the whole lesson.
ReplyDeleteWe can also pause in between to supplement the points left out. Thus, its one effective tool of teachings.
Integration of ICT in lesson will have great impact for learners as compared to without integration of ICT. It is very informative and enriching. Please, keep using ICT in teaching as it has become important tool for 21st century learners.

ICT has lately been the most powerful tool in the teaching and learning field. To make our co cept very clear its always wise to use one ICT tools in our faily teaching. But we should also remember the dos and dont of ICT before hand to avoid any complication later. When you use video tutorial in fact you shouldn't rely solely on it...beside screening video tutorial you could have explined side by side too.
